Minute by minute, day by day, week by week. Our mission is to use time as efficient as possible. Teamwork is the key to success. This is one of many lessons I have learned since being here in beautiful California. It’s crazy how time flies when there is so much to do and work for but I guess that’s the price you pay for living the dream. Time somehow has been going by very quickly. I have been working on adapting to the change of pace and momentum going forward. Decisions need to be made quickly, work needs to be done efficiently and plans need to be turned into reality.
Some things just happen so fast here that it’s difficult for me to follow what’s going on when and where. Just couple of days ago we were talking about what color hats and shirts we want for the tour. Now they are on their way already and we need to start the next steps. We recently purchased the motorhome and now we are working on designing and decorating it. The clinics are filling up at incredible speed. All these things make us as a team proud and happy. Just last week all these were just ideas. Everything shaping up perfectly and I’m so excited about how our work is starting to pay off.
We are building great, positive and strong relationships here. That’s what it’s all about. We are just having fun and doing some awesome activities together. Avery and I went to the Farmer Insurance Open at the Torrey Pines Golf Course in San Diego, CA to watch the action of the final day. Unfortunately Tiger Woods, being one of my idols, didn’t make the cut so we couldn’t watch him play. That’s still one of my dreams to meet Tiger. Also we got an opportunity a LA Lakers game in downtown Los Angeles at the Staples Center. Again we were a little unfortunate that Kobe Bryant was injured and so we also did’t get a chance to watch him. But still these were incredible experiences for me, it’s a good and important balance to working on stuff we need to get ready for our tour.
Another thing we do together is working out. We go running every other day and try to do our one hour workout program every day. It makes you feel so much stronger training together with friends. You can push each other to do more repetitions or motivate you to get up and run 20 laps. I came here to become stronger and I’m working on that as much as possible. Do your best and forget the rest, that’s how we do it!
I’m still blown away by the beauty of most places here. I’ve played 11 courses now here in California. Had the pleasure of playing the first Disc Golf course ever installed, Oak Grove Disc Golf Course, the other day. Had a great day there preparing for my first competition of this season, the Wintertime Open, which will be on the same course. There will be so many more beautiful courses and places for me to go throughout this spring. Although it’s cloudy here for the first time in three weeks, this place makes it hard to miss home.
It’s also so nice to read and see how people enjoy what we do and get excited about Discmania. The entire team including myself are thrilled by the response we are receiving. I’m working on disc reviews at the moment and working on my Disc Golf game of course. I try to get out on the practice field every day and putt as much as possible. I’m starting to feel ready to compete and go on tour! Thanks again to all of you who help grow this beautiful sport! That’s what I work for.
