Announcing: Blizzard C-line

Discmania Blizzard C-line available soon

There has been a lot of speculation if and when there will be Blizzard C-line release for our high-speed models. If you’re not familiar with the Blizzard technology, it’s the newest breakthrough in Disc Golf equipment by definitely the main contributor of the sport, Innova Champion Discs. The Blizzard discs utilize small micro bubbles in the rim of the disc allowing the high speed drivers to be manufactured in lighter weights than ever before.

The success of the Blizzard discs is basic physics: a lighter projectile is easier to throw far than the heavy discs most disc golfers are used to. The best part about the Blizzard technology is that despite the Blizzard discs are lighter than regular discs, they imitate the flight pattern of the heavier discs really well: For example a 150+ gram Blizzard C-line DD2 acts very similar to a 170 gram C-line DD2.

Discmania Blizzard C-line soon available.

What is specifically interesting about the upcoming C-line Blizzard release is that our Blizzard models will be available in “tournament ready” weight ranges that go up to high 160′s. These higher-weight Blizzard models will specifically accomodate the distance needs of those players, who have felt the Innova’s Blizzard line-up too light and/or understable.  DD2 & PD2  will be  the two models that will be released Blizzard C-line in the near future. The advantage of having these two models available in lighter weight is that more players will be able to play with the fastest drivers in our selection and for the big arms there’s more distance to be gained with these two models.

Factory 2nd Blizzard C-line DD2 & PD2 available @ Innova Factory Store

There’s a limited quantity of Discmania Blizzards at the Innova Factory store. These “Factory 2nd” discs are cosmetically flawed discs that did not meet our quality standards for regular production. The flaws do not effect flight characteristics or durability of the disc. With the discounted price of 11 USD the supplies won’t last long, so go grab yours while you still can!

Did you know:

Innova’s Blizzard Champion plastic is responsible for a new world record in Distance. 16-year-old David Wiggins Jr. broke Christian Sandström’s old record from ten years back with 255-meter throw with a 134-gram Blizzard Champion Boss. More info on the new WR over at Innova’s blog.

S-line PD2 out April 2nd!

Team Discmania's Seppo Paju lining up for a sidearm shot w/ the new S-PD2

We know you’ve been waiting for this! The PD2 in it’s pre-existing forms (P-line & C-line*) have gathered a strong following of Disc Golfers that appreciate its take-no-prisoners flight pattern. We’re extremely happy with the way the S-PD2 turned out: this configuration has been described even beefier than the C-line version and it definitely has the speed to match. The S-line plastic is grippy and very durable – we guarantee this bad boy won’t flip after a couple of collisions.

As a limited run release for the Russian Championships, the PD2 has already found it’s way to the bags of some of the most skilled players of this game. During the Memorial Championships the S-PD2 was seen in action in the hands of Nikko Locastro, Avery Jenkins, Jussi Meresmaa and Seppo Paju to name a few. So if the top names of disc golf rely on this disc when they need to keep their shots out the trouble, why wouldn’t you?

One disc, two stamps

S-PD2 will come out with two separate stamps

The S-PD2 will be released with two different artworks: The Chaos -stamp in the US and as the Seppo Paju signature edition in Europe. A certain percent of each sold signature S-PD2′s will go to cover Seppo’s touring expenses this year. So by buying the Seppo S-PD2, you also support Seppo’s career. Sweet deal!

DISClaimer: The PD2 is not for the faint of heart. This disc is extremely stable and fast and best used in the hands of players with lots of power. A-we-some for sidearm players.

*(The unfortunately the C-line PD2 was discontinued earlier this year. More info here.)

FD release March 12th!

The day you’ve been waiting for is upon us! We’re finally pushing the much-anticipated Discmania FD out the door and to the retailers. The international release date has been set to March 12th, but most of our retailers will probably receive these with a delay of a couple of days.

Discmania FD Jackal

The FD has been the most anticipated release from us in terms of new molds in the last couple of years. FD, short for Fairway Driver, will serve as the first true Fairway Driver in our line-up. Number one reason for us to develop a Fairway Driver was public demand – we’ve been flooded with requests for a disc like this for a good while now. Additionally we’re pretty happy with our current high-speed line-up and the variance it offers in different plastic blends and thus felt like we really needed to put our focus in making the best possible Fairway Driver out there.

The Jackal has been described to have the flight pattern of a seasoned TeeBird*. It’s best feature is it’s predictability. Once you get the the hang of the Jackal, you’ll never leave it out of your bag again. One of the features we really enjoy is that due to it’s tremendous glide (rated at 6) it can also be sneaky long. Longest measured throw with the FD is currently at 174m / 571ft. Not bad for a Fairway Driver ;)

*(We’re well aware that comparing each new disc to a TeeBird has gotten a bit old, but if you’re in doubt, try it yourself. This one really does hold the comparison.)
