We are proud to announce the creation of Discmania Golf Discs. Discmania is a disc golf company established in 2001 to provide high quality disc golf equipment to players around the world. Discmania not only sells disc golf equipment but manages and promotes successful disc golf events like the 2006 European Open. Discmania currently operates in the United States and Europe.
Discmania has teamed with INNOVA Champion Discs, Inc. to create a unique line of golf discs. “Our goal is to provide disc golfers with the best quality golf discs, and working with INNOVA makes this vision possible,” says Jussi Meresmaa, Discmania CEO. “It’s been two years since our initial idea to have our own golf disc line, and now we are thrilled to have the world’s most well known golf disc designer, Dave Dunipace, working with us. This gives Discmania the strength to complete our mission.”
The first Discmania golf disc to be released is the MD1. Starting today, the MD1 will be available in the US and Europe at Discmania.net. The Discmania MD1 will be available in two different plastic blends: the D-line and the S-line. US distribution will be handled by Mark Molnar. European distribution will be divided into three areas, all handled by Discmania companies.
Dave Dunipace, the designer of the Discmania MD1 says: “The MD1 is a large diameter, 180 gram max weight midrange disc. So far, flight testing is extremely promising. The MD1 performs well in all wind conditions. It is a stable flyer with good range and a predictable low speed fade. I think the MD1 could become a classic like the INNOVA Roc or Shark. ”
“We plan to release more Discmania discs by early summer 2007, including a driver model and a putter to complete our initial line of discs”, says Jussi Meresmaa.
