DD2 – Frenzy

Flight characteristics

The DD2 Frenzy is currently the farthest flying Discmania brand driver and is possibly the longest flying Innova disc made! This disc offers tremendous speed combined with good glide and great control! This disc is a hybrid of Innova's Katana and Boss. You get the best of both in the DD2! Give it try - you'll probably reach distances you've never reached before.

I cant to get my hands on one of these!….The Katana is my favorite driver at the moment..this thing should be sick!!! cant wait until tax return time!!!

I just bought one the other day, took it out to an open field and compared it to my Champion Groove and Champion Wraith.
The Frenzy beat the others easily by more than 50 ft!
It’s the longest driver I have ever thrown and feels lighter in your hand then the other disks. I felt like the plastic allowed a great grip on it also!
The scariest part for me testing this disk was when I aimed for a tree, about 70 ft in front of a fenced in electrical station, and the Frenzy carried all the way to the fence, hit the top of it, and fell down on my side…
    Got lucky there!
It went further than I thought it would!
Now I have to take it out to the course… can not wait! Get one as soon as you see it. You will not be disappointed!

I’ve had one for a while now!! Not a bad disc though there’s one draw back mine’s pro-line plastic(:v:s:) champion’s from other makers?Waiting for one that looks tie dyed with reflective flakeing in it simular to automotive paint so i can get a custom disc in a wider color sceem for all four season play?and a cross between a buzz and a avenger’s ss for mid.-range!

Ross: If you want durability, try out the C-line version. The second run is available from 170g and up and it goes faaaarrrr!
Concerning the reflective plastic: do you mean this one: http://bit.ly/jS5rXa ?

Made seasons first ~100m hole-in-one with DD2 P-line. A bit too over stable for power drives for me but a nice addition to my power driver arsenal.

  5. Hannu says:

ok, I’ll get one c-line next time when visiting zoneZone.

My big-D drivers were the Valkyrie and Groove because of their similar flight characteristics. I won a Frenzy (s-line) in a contest and saw that it luckily had the same flight. I use it now in place of my Groove. I know I can have the same form as when I throw my Valk and when there is a tailwind, I feel like I can toss this thing a mile. It’s definitely one to move up to with the amount of spin that I need to put on it, but when I throw it well, it’s pretty cool.

I bought an Asian Open DD2 when they first came out. I had it in my bag and hadn’t tried even a practice shot with it when I decided to throw it on a 325 ft hole for the 1st time. It cam out like a rocket and I made an ACE that went straight into the chains, my first. Luckily I had a witness. It kind of sucked having to retire it as an Ace disc since I had only thrown it once. Luckily I had bought 2 and had a backup.

just picked one up today with the c-line plastic and 172g this thing is sick longest disc i have ever thrown gained 45 to 50 feet. i love how i can control this thing i even let my buddies throw it around and they love it and feel the same as me.
And also we came up with a name for the dd2 even tho it already has one since you say in a hybrid from a katana and boss just call it the KABOSSA!!! lol

  9. Jacob says:

As a flicker I’m not as impressed with the Frenzy. However I have had other people borrow it that throw overhand and can kill it. I saw one person get 400+ out of it.

  10. Tapani Ruohonen says:

If you got the space or a tailwind, you can do the trick with DD2, easily 400f. When the disc is a bit weared, you can use it for a controlled S-drive. Suits also for fore, especially if don’t have the biggest glove when it comes to the forearm drives.

Discmania’s fastest disc, sitting between the Katana and the Boss in stability. Great for long distance bombs in the open, and in premium plastic can also be pretty accurate and consistent even in the wind.

The P-Lines are definitely the easiest to throw long, but also definitely the least accurate. For all out tailwind bombs though, a seasoned P-DD2 is hard to beat.

S-Lines are much more stable and easier to control on shots needing accuracy, leaning much more to the Boss side of the spectrum. A bit of turn, a consistent fade, lots of speed and glide.

Oh, and if you can locate some, do yourself a favor and get a green ES-DD2 (Echo). Those things are flat as boards and can handle themselves even in harsh wind conditions. Not as reliable in the wind as the PD2, naturally, but much longer and definitely controllable. Only a limited amount of these were done, so they might be hard to find. There were also orange ES-DD2′s, but those weren’t as flat and fly much more like your average S-DD2, though are a bit gummier and more grippy.

I bought this disc last summer and it is now one of my favourite drivers. I use it much in hyzers. “The Joker” on the disc looks that when you have this disc in your hand, you won’t throw bad. Now i have theese disc two in my bag, P-line plastic. Boss is always boss, but frenzy looks king. :) Thank you team discmania, you have did much great discs and frenzy is one of my favourites. SO: REINVENT YOUR GAME.!

  13. Ryan says:

Just bought the frenzy a short while ago it out drives my katana by 50 to 75 feet every time longest disc I have in my bag. My friend now wants one after I destroyed the longest drive he ever had with his groove. This is one of the best disc’s I have ever bought and cant wait to try a few more.

  14. Robert Aldrich says:

the Frenzy from Discmania is stable and i think that it just replaced the old champion boss that i have. i will still have a boss in my bag but thats the blizzard plastic 136 gram. my 172 gram boss is retired.

  15. Brittany says:

I absolutely LOVE my Frenzy. I own at least 3. I have only been able to throw the Chaos just about as far….just under 300 yards. In windy conditions, in my opinion, this disc remains very stable. This is one of the only drivers I will ever have in my bag.

Nice! There’s a Blizzard C-line version of the DD2 coming out soon too, we recommend you check those out when they hit the stores.

  16. kalle. says:

this disc is the best disc i ewer have had! i have two frenzys now, one echo s-line and one s-line, the echo frenzy is good for hyzers and the s-line is good for looong straight an S-curve shots!

    • Janne | Discmania Staff says:

Sounds great, thanks for the feedback!

Make sure you check out the upcoming Blizzard C-line DD2 also. It’s awesome for gaining distance, especially with a little tailwind!

  17. Jonathan says:

The Blizzard C Line DD2 just hit http://www.discgolfcenter.com! Cannot wait to try it out along with a Blizzard Champion Boss.

  18. John says:

I’m a beginner and I can only drive between 250 to 270 feet right now. I tried a 150 gram blizzard C-line DD2 and have had drives between 300 to 315 feet with it. It turns over to the right if I throw it too hard. Great Disc! Maybe I’ll get a heavier one to prevent the hard right turns? Any suggestions ?

    • Janne | Discmania Staff says:

Sounds great John! If you want more stability out of your Blizzard C-DD2, we also recommend you grab a heavier one. Maybe 155-7g would be good.

  19. John says:

    Thank you Janne. Great Disc!!!

  20. greenmeanie says:

I think it flies a little better than a NUKE and have been using it as my main driver this summer.
But for me I have to really get on it to make it fly right where it flips up a little and glides forever!
But if my back is bugging me or I am feeling tired I need to goto a smaller rim driver for the day.
But this disk is a great disc that more people should try out if you have the power to throw it. I am thinking you need to be able to throw at least 350ft before you can handle this disc.

  21. nick says:

Bought an s-line and had a set in bird on a 350ft hole the second time a threw the disc it went into some weeds and never returned but i could throw it so straight and far

  22. greenmeanie says:

I give a thumbs up on this disc. I now have 2 in P-line and want to try a S line soon.
For my throwing it FLIPS up just a little and glides a long time.

  23. I used to throw Nuke as my go to distance driver. Since I picked up a DD2 nothing has touched it. By far the fastest disc on the market. Just understable enough to get a good turnover, but stable enough at the end of the flight to provide maximum distance! Gotta check one out if you haven”t
