MD1

Flight characteristics

The MD1 was the first Discmania Golf Disc. It is a stable flyer with good range and a predictable low speed fade. The MD1 comes in two blends: more grippy D-line and very durable S-line. A limited quantity of the discontinued softer S-line (SG-line) discs are still available.

Discmania’s Roc. A stable to overstable thrower that can handle winds and various distances on various lines.

Starts out about as overstable as a Roc in D (from what I’ve seen, experiences can vary) and beats in very similarly. My oldest one first beat in to straight, then to slightly understable and now flies like a well seasoned Roc. A great disc in different stages of wear.

The S and SG-Lines are as or slightly more overstable, and they stay that way for a very long time. These things have been able to handle any amount of wind I’ve exposed them to without turning. They won’t fade much but they can definitely handle wind great.

The only problem I have with the MD1 is the same I have with the Roc: They’re not too OAT tolerant. Even though they can handle a lot of power and wind on a clean throw, you don’t need much wobble to make them turn very drastically. This is mostly a grip related issue though. It just doesn’t fit my hand very well. Love the flight, not a fan of the grip. For what it’s worth though, the SG-Line is definitely the best at handling OAT, the stiff S and D-Lines are much more susceptible.

If it feels good in your hand, go for it. It’s a great stable to overstable flyer. The SG-Lines are especially yummy, and from what I’ve heard they won’t be made anymore after they run out.
