Meet Avery Jenkins

So yeah… We guess most of you know by now that Disc Golf World Champ 2009 Avery Jenkins is rocking Discmania plastic. Avery is not only a great player, but also an all-around Disc Golf powerhouse, who’s helped us a whole bunch in getting the word out to you guys about our terrific line of discs.

So needless to say, Avery works as a flag bearer for Discmania as a key member of team Discmania. Avery is just the type of person we want to have in our team – A great athlete and a great personality who works hard to spread the word of Disc Golf all over the world. He is an example of a great player that is easily approachable and pretty much always ready to give you tips on how to improve your game. Alongside Discmania, Avery also plays with Innova and is a member of the reputable Innova Star Team.

So which Discmania models does Avery play with you may ask? Check out this vid to see Avery in action with his new favourite go-to driver:

We’ve also released a limited Avery Jenkins signature set of C-line PD2′s that are you can find popping up on ebay and some selected retailers. Other Discmania discs that Avery uses are PD (Freak) and P2 (Psycho). Coincidentally, below is Avery rocking the P2 (Psycho) to one of the sketchiest baskets we’ve ever seen. No matter though, the basket is made with love and that’s all that counts here ;)

Taking them to the field: C-line PD&PD2 (w/ vids)

So yeah… If it’s not yet been established as obvious, we are VERY stoked about the new C-line that’s been out for a couple of weeks now. We are not the ones picking favorites here, but if you haven’t had the chance to make acquaintances with the PD (Freak), we think you should totally check it out. Praised as the perfect number one driver, this disc in it’s various forms (P,S,C) is so versatile there is a number of people out that basically fill their driver section of the bag with just PDs.

So without further a due: Here’s Jussi showing how to avoid a water hazard with a new C-line PD:

Another disc gathering a substantial amount of buzz around it is the all-new PD2 (Chaos), which could be easily referred as a bigger brother for the PD. The PD2 is not a choice for a beginner, but will come in handy in various situations for an experienced player. With a 12,4,0,4 -flight characteristic rating, the PD2 is made for those huge bombs, both backhand or sidearm.

Check below to see how Jussi does it:

Our Power Drivers (PD&PD2) are all about control, no matter what the weather is like outside. So if you think you could add a little control to your game, try them out! We’re pretty sure you won’t be disappointed.

Discmania hits Taiwan

As the strange crime surrounding the disappearance of our C-line prototypes is still being investigated in Finland, the CEO of Discmania Golf Discs, Jussi Meresmaa, is en route from Taiwan, where he attended the Asia Open, along with the victorious teammate Avery Jenkins.

Local player (72 years!) is teeing off at Taipei Disc Golf course.

After the international Asia Open in Taiwan, Avery and Jussi went to meet local players in the nearby Disc Golf Course (another of the two existing ones in Taiwan!). This small course had 9 home made baskets and multiple teeing areas. A bunch of locals were there to wait to see international stars in their home course!

Avery and Jussi with local players. Hey, aren´t those all S-line PDs?!

Atmosphere was really friendly and even there were not common (speaking) language, Disc Golf language was unite! This afternoon was filled up with smiles, laugh and some good shots. After the round Avery kept a putting clinic (to be added later into our YouTube channel).

Discmania has hit Taiwan!

Surprisingly for us, Discmania had already hit Taiwan as these locals were throwing their tee shots with S-line PDs. Needless to say, this was very exiting news for us. Discmania is truly becoming an international brand among grass root players and we appreciate that.

Concerning the before-mentioned theft: According to our primary investigations, the we have narrowed the list down to undisclosed number of suspects. At this point we can’t publish the names of these suspects in order to not mess up the investigations. What we can say is that the trails seem to lead out of Finland. If you are cooking up a theory about this theft, please let us know by email. We will publish some of the submitted theories in our blog & facebook later on, if it is okay with the person providing the information. Thank you for your contributions so far, we’ve enjoyed them very much ;)
