Discmania presents: The Hidden Gems

So you’ve probably heard about the alleged theft of our C-line prototypes, which lead to some suspicious clues and finally an outcome represented in a Disc Golf short movie called “the Great Escape“. If you haven’t followed the story so far, check out the handy links.

So one might think that the story ends here – we are pushing out the C-line starting on March 7th and hope you guys like the new discs. We sure do. But there’s one more last bit to the story. See the destiny of the discs weren’t fully explained in the short movie.

So at first we made you all worried about the whereabouts of our missing protos (yeah, sorry about that). Well now we’d like to offer you guys a chance to find yourselves a piece of the missing protos. See we’ve hidden ten of them in undisclosed locations around the globe, waiting for you guys to hunt them down.

Discmania Burglary – The Plot Thickens

Hello World. As you may have already heard, a little less than week ago we found out that someone had stolen a very valuable set of prototypes from our warehouse in Tampere, Finland. We’ve left no clues untouched in the process of investigating this crime and lots interesting theories have been also provided by you guys. Especially one of the earliest clues involving a trenchcoat and a magnifying glass was something we were really excited about at first.

Despite the collective efforts of the Disc Golf community, we were still shooting blanks in terms of identificating the thief (turns out it wasn’t Carmen Santiago after all :D). That is, until our posterboy and Discmania Team member, Jesse Heinonen were contacted by a shady Ex-Soviet character named suspiciously the “Dealer”. At first we though that this was another attempt by a new disc manufacturer to steal Jesse from our Team, but after Jesse MMS’d us the photo below via email with no other information, we knew the Dealer must have something to do with the disappearance of our prototypes.

Is this the suspicious Dealer?

Is this the Dealer? And where is Jesse?

After sending this photo, we haven’t heard back from Jesse. We are starting worry that something has happened to him. Despite the fuzziness, one can fairly easily identify the discs on the table as our prototypes, the ones stolen from our warehouse.

Where is Jesse Heinonen? Has he betrayed us? Who is this “Dealer”? Will we ever get our prototypes back? Did you remember to brush your teeth this morning? Is there anything one can trust these days?

Quite franktly, we don’t know the answers to these questions yet, but to be on the safe side we’d recommend you’d subscribe to our YouTube Channel. It seems like a pretty smart move at this point ;)

Discmania hits Taiwan

As the strange crime surrounding the disappearance of our C-line prototypes is still being investigated in Finland, the CEO of Discmania Golf Discs, Jussi Meresmaa, is en route from Taiwan, where he attended the Asia Open, along with the victorious teammate Avery Jenkins.

Local player (72 years!) is teeing off at Taipei Disc Golf course.

After the international Asia Open in Taiwan, Avery and Jussi went to meet local players in the nearby Disc Golf Course (another of the two existing ones in Taiwan!). This small course had 9 home made baskets and multiple teeing areas. A bunch of locals were there to wait to see international stars in their home course!

Avery and Jussi with local players. Hey, aren´t those all S-line PDs?!

Atmosphere was really friendly and even there were not common (speaking) language, Disc Golf language was unite! This afternoon was filled up with smiles, laugh and some good shots. After the round Avery kept a putting clinic (to be added later into our YouTube channel).

Discmania has hit Taiwan!

Surprisingly for us, Discmania had already hit Taiwan as these locals were throwing their tee shots with S-line PDs. Needless to say, this was very exiting news for us. Discmania is truly becoming an international brand among grass root players and we appreciate that.

Concerning the before-mentioned theft: According to our primary investigations, the we have narrowed the list down to undisclosed number of suspects. At this point we can’t publish the names of these suspects in order to not mess up the investigations. What we can say is that the trails seem to lead out of Finland. If you are cooking up a theory about this theft, please let us know by email. We will publish some of the submitted theories in our blog & facebook later on, if it is okay with the person providing the information. Thank you for your contributions so far, we’ve enjoyed them very much ;)
