Introducing: the C-MD2 & John Rae (w/ videos!)

Back again! How have you guys been? Last week we did a small article about the PD & PD2 with Jussi Meresmaa shoving how to use them. This time it’s time to give focus on a midrange driver so straight, it has already become a regular in the bag of one of the living legends of the sport.
Discmania C-line MD2

We’re talking of course about the MD2 Fiend, C-line MD2 in this case to be exact. The Fiend is a disc that allows a player to shoot those controlled laser-line straight midrange shots that stick on the fairway. Control is the key when it comes to straight midranges, and the MD2 has got plenty of it. Now it’s not the most stable midrange driver out there, there are other discs for that job (the Gremlin for example), but it will hold any line you choose to give it. It’s a disc that takes a shot or two to master, but after that were pretty sure you won’t be willing to ever leave it out your bag anymore.

Check out this vid with John Rae from team Discmania shows you some moves with it:

As it hasn’t been announced before, here it comes: John Rae is an up and coming disc golfer with a solid track record bombing those 1000+ rated rounds mainly in the Cali region. John has been playing with our plastic for quite some time now and he felt like the right pick for our team as an ambassador of Discmania Golf Discs with his sportmanship and good reputation on and off the course. So welcome John, we’re happy to have you!

Final message this time comes from the Clint Eastwood of Disc Golf, a true legend of the sport. As you may or may not know, most Innova players are allowed to play with Discmania discs and Ken Climo is one of the guys taking advantage of this possibility. Here’s Ken with his favourite Discmania Disc: the C-line MD2!

Taking them to the field: C-line PD&PD2 (w/ vids)

So yeah… If it’s not yet been established as obvious, we are VERY stoked about the new C-line that’s been out for a couple of weeks now. We are not the ones picking favorites here, but if you haven’t had the chance to make acquaintances with the PD (Freak), we think you should totally check it out. Praised as the perfect number one driver, this disc in it’s various forms (P,S,C) is so versatile there is a number of people out that basically fill their driver section of the bag with just PDs.

So without further a due: Here’s Jussi showing how to avoid a water hazard with a new C-line PD:

Another disc gathering a substantial amount of buzz around it is the all-new PD2 (Chaos), which could be easily referred as a bigger brother for the PD. The PD2 is not a choice for a beginner, but will come in handy in various situations for an experienced player. With a 12,4,0,4 -flight characteristic rating, the PD2 is made for those huge bombs, both backhand or sidearm.

Check below to see how Jussi does it:

Our Power Drivers (PD&PD2) are all about control, no matter what the weather is like outside. So if you think you could add a little control to your game, try them out! We’re pretty sure you won’t be disappointed.

Discmania Hidden Gems – the wrap up

Finally! A very prominent Disc Golf promoter by the name of Kuan Chen just posted good news to our facebook wall informing that the very last one of our Hidden Gems was found by Mr. Ham Bao Wu From Taipei, Taiwan. If you weren’t familiar with this whole Hidden Gems -ordeal go grab the facts from the Hidden Gems -page.

This was definitely a fun project for us to organize. After all, everything sort of started from the suspicious theft of one shiny briefcase, leading to some off-the-radar clues. After that we put out a small clip you’ve probably seen and launched the Hidden Gems -campaign.

Now we’ve heard that some of you guys were offended because the burglary-story was made up. We are truly sorry if someone is still sullen about it. The fact of the matter is that we felt like the Disc Golf scene was in desperate need of a little shaking up and the campaign as a whole felt like the best way to make some waves. Of course it’s also about selling some plastic, but that’s definitely not the only reason we did it.

For us doing something different is a way of pushing the sport forward. By doing cool things, the sport itself gains credibility and may even introduce a couple of fresh faces to the sport of Disc Golf. Judging by the feedback we’ve received, this certainly was a breath of fresh air and it pushes other disc manufacturers to do cool things too. I mean just look at the new Innova clip:

That’s gangster. And we certainly respect that.

That’s all for this time. The C-line is out and we highly recommend you give it try. We are extremely happy the about the way it turned out. And we do have a trick or two up our sleeves for the future too… Subscribe to our blog and / or like us on facebook to be among the first to know about the next big thing ;D
