Burglary at the Discmania warehouse, C-line prototypes stolen!

The very second we arrived to our warehouse this morning and saw the tire marks in the snow, we realized that something wasn’t right. Once we got to the door, we noticed that the lock had been picked and it was still open. It was somehow freezing cold inside too. What was awaiting inside, we never would have guessed: Piles of discs lying on the ground – the thief must have been looking for something in particular.

the thief left a mess in our warehouse

At first we didn’t even realize what had been taken. Although the thief had left quite a mess behind, everything seemed to be in place, as if the thief hadn’t found what he/she was looking for. After a good ten minutes it finally hit us – “The briefcase! The briefcase is gone” someone shouted. The briefcase in mention happened to contain very valuable first prototypes of the new Discmania C-line models, the very first ones ever to be stamped with the new Discmania C-line stamp to be exact.

Then it became clear to us. The thief had definitely known what he was looking for. Very few people even knew about these discs. Had someone betrayed us?

Have you seen this briefcase?

Have you seen this briefcase?

Now, dear Discmaniacs, we need your help. If you have seen any of these new C-line discs being sold in secrecy or anyone moving around disc golf courses with a big metallic briefcase, we would very much like to know about it. The contents of that briefcase are very valuable and we don’t want the prototypes of our new line ending up in the wrong hands.

Please report every possible sighting either to the comments of this post or via email to: janne.lahtinen[at]discmania.fi

Very uncool. But I would check the neighbourhood.
Maybe it was just a thief with no interest in discs but very interested in a metal CLOSED briefcase(there could be money inside)….

I do hope they surface again. Can’t imagen that some disc golfer did this om purpose.

  2. janne says:

That might be. If so, the thief might be pretty disappointed at the moment..

  3. dave b says:

what discs do we look for to be sold?

  4. janne says:

Dave: These are Discmania C-line prototypes (various models). If anyone is trying to sell disc under the name C-line Prototypes, the items are most likely to be these exact discs.

Todella ikävää. Toivottavasti roistot saadaan kiinni. ;)

Mielestäni tämä on väärennetty tarina. Tapa saada julkisuutta uusia levyjä. Kuva näyttää pariton minulle.

I know a setup when i see one.

What?!? I think the photo and story are an obvious fabrication.

  8. Nate Hagner says:

I think that you should show us the C-Line Stamp so we can keep a better eye out for them!

I see one in the Avery Jenkins post below this one… GET HIM!!!

As of 2011, that blue disc stuck in the chair does not count. It must be resting ON the chair. not wedged in between the seat and back. Sorry, about the stolen discs, but you’ll also need to eat that stroke too.

    :)

Couldn’t you go easy on us.. just this one time? Pretty please? Or to come and think of it, I think we probably should ask for the group’s decision ;)

And, um, just how much will the reward be??? :P

  12. Jesse says:

After having been thrown on the floor, I’m sure some of those discs in the picture must be a little scratched up and un-sellable.

Need a place to give them?

    :D

Obvious publicity stunt…. c’mon discmania; at least a better mock-up of the alleged break-in would be more convincing. I mean, who knocks over a chair when they are looking for something?

    • janne says:

Maybe it was dark? Or maybe the thief didn’t realize he was being such a cliché with the crowbar and all. Or then again, there might be something more to the story than the article suggests…

Jussi, could this be one of those discs that went down the gutter in Rancho Cucamonga? I would start looking there.

  15. Matherw Owens says:

What kind of low lifes would steal discs. that’s lower than low. And especially, if your going to break into a disc shop why not take them all? free discs for life at that point, instead of maybe the 20 that can fit into a breifcase.

I’m pretty sure I saw a man by the name of Dillon Gourley with that exact briefcase in Tupelo, MS…Trace State Park to be exact.
