The Mission
We at Discmania strive to grow the sport of disc golf in every way possible. From supporting school athletic programs to your favorite local tournament, we always want to empower initiatives that draw new players and keep current players enjoying the sport we love. So when we had the chance to work with event organizers Katri Koponen and Puskasoturit Ry of Power Putt Ladies Open, we jumped at the opportunity to be the main sponsor.
Power Putt Ladies Open provides the largest all female disc golf event in Europe. Katri and her team strive to make the event accessible and welcoming as possible to draw new players while highlighting women’s competitive disc golf.
Not Just a Tournament
The Power Putt team carefully organized clinics, side competitions, vendor tents, and awesome Discmania player packs in a way that kept the wide spectrum of players in mind. They built the event schedule so that all players could participate in competition, clinics, and even watch FPO rounds later in the day.
These special touches and attention to detail elevate Power Putt Ladies Open to more than just a tournament. It highlights the best elements of this sport - community, fun, getting outdoors, and good spirited competition.
The Results
Power Putt 2022 brought in 179 players from across Europe spanning 11 separate divisions, making it Europe’s largest women’s disc golf competition!
Competitors enjoyed a beautiful autumn day at legendary Heinola DiscGolfPark World, better known as Kippis. Smiling faces, great throws, awesome prizes, live music, and more could be seen across the grounds.
