Another amazing day of disc golf went down in Tampere today, and we’re here to give you the highlights!
Eagle Looks to Repeat
It seems the main storyline continues to be whether Eagle McMahon can clutch his second European Open victory in a row. Starting the day two strokes from the lead, it looked like he came back ready to correct the slow start of round one.
Not only did it look like he was ready, he proved it - scoring five strokes better through the first six holes than round one. A spectacular performance ensued including two huge makes from circle two for birdie on holes ten and fifteen.
Eagle finished his day two strokes off the leader, Anthony Barela, and tied for second with just Albert Tamm.
FPO Battling for Top 10
Anneli Tõugjas-Männiste had a stellar performance in round 1, bringing her to lead card for today’s round. We loved getting to see her skills on one of the biggest international stages possible. At the end of round two, Anneli holds down a top five spot for Team Discmania and will be on chase card coverage tomorrow.
Ella Hansen continues making highlight plays, cashing two huge circle two putts for birdie as well. She sits tied for 9th after round 2, hunting another top ten finish.
Hyytiäinen Heats Up
Round 1 Tuomas proved he has the capability of scoring at The Beast, getting himself seven birdies. Today, we saw him take it to another level not only reducing his bogey strokes but adding four additional birdies to his round two.
All in all, he finished eight down - jumping him up 35 spots on the leaderboard! He currently sits tied for 19, and if he keeps up the pace from today we expect to see him jump even further up the list.
